WHAT?
Okay, YAY, I am finally in at Punchbowl! What?????? What's going on? Are they digging up graves? One whole section of lawn is completely fenced off, no grass visible but upon closer observation there are still grave markers on the soil. Whew. No mass grave diggings. I am feeling a little better. Cotninuing on my journey. What is that ahead where my dad in interred? WHAT??????? Ohmygosh. The whole "wall" area is blocked off by a black mesh fence. Apparently construction is underway to build more walls! Okay. Thank you to whoever should be out there informing me of this...KGMB? Honolulu Advertiser? All the news stations I listen to in the car? Not blaming anyone but seriously? Everyone I talked to since thinks SOMEONE should have informed SOMEBODY seeing as how it is VETERAN'S DAY!!!

National Memorial of the Pacific
Traveled to Punchbowl this morning. Wanted to get there bright and early, by 7:30 am, to beat the crowd and get to my meeting by 9 am. I was met by a line of cars and a locked gate, not to be opened until, as the security man said, "Sharply at 8 am. 365 days a year." Okay!
